Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we went to Washington to be with my family! We tried to leave Tuesday evening after Anthon got off of work .

But the roads looked like this

and all the roads going out of Rexburg were closed.
The next morning we left around 5:00 when all the roads had been re-opened.

re-packing the car
Somewhere in Montana
More Montana
Going back into Idaho
Entering Washington.
One of the places we stopped at to get gas was in Snowqualmie Pass. It was so pretty I had to take some pictures. I wouldn't mind having a cabin there some day! The mountains in Washington are so pretty!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my grandparents! We played white elephant and I got a gingerbread house and Anthon got some headphones! That night we went to Walmart to do some Black Friday shopping. Most of their deals started at midnight. We got 13 movies for about $20!! We also got a cool collage frame and some sheets. After we were done shopping there we went back to my parents house and went to sleep. Later that day we met my parents for lunch and then did a little more shopping and I got some cute boots!

On Saturday night we went to the Nutcracker. Then Anthon left to go back to Rexburg and I stayed for 2 weeks with my family. I had a lot of fun with them but I missed Anthon a lot!

When I got home back in Rexburg, there was a little Christmas tree set up that our neighbors let us borrow! Anthon and I decorated it together. I am glad we have it. It feels a little bit more like Christmas in our apartment now!

1 year

On November 20, Anthon  and I celebrated our 1st anniversary! The day started off with Anthon going to the grocery store and coming back with a rose! He stopped at the flower shop and while picking out a flower he also got some candles that were on sale! One smells like peppermint and the other one smells like "Christmas Eve."

The rose Anthon got me!
We wanted to do something fun that didn't cost much so we went to Lava Hot Springs, ID! We found a decent hotel that didn't cost much!

Lava Hot Springs is a place where there are naturally heated hot pools! The coolest pool is approx. 102˚ and the hottest pool is about 112˚. When we were there it was snowing! We were sitting in a hot pool of water while snowflakes were falling on us! It was a very cool experience! We definitely picked the best time to go there! I wouldn't want to go there in the summer, it would be too hot! We would like to go back again sometime!

Peaches

In September, our friend Brittany brought us a box of peaches from Utah when she came to stay with us!

When we got this box it was full all the way to the top! Then we ate some for a couple of weeks before we finally took the time to freeze what was left.

To freeze them, we put them in boiling water for about a minute.

Then we put them in cold water to cool them down. After that they were a piece of cake to peel.

Then we sliced them up, put them in a bowl, and mixed in some fresh fruit.

In the end we had 10 quart sized bags full of peaches to put in the freezer, ready to be pulled out any time we want to use them!

Before and After

At the end of August, Anthon and I did 2 little home improvement projects!

First we took this clockAnd made it look like this
Then we took this deskAnd made it look like this
We are very happy with how the clock turned out. After painting it red we liked it and weren't sure if we wanted to add the black to it. Deciding to keep it red, we hung it on the wall. As soon as Anthon took his hands off of it, it fell and some of the paint scraped off. Then to fix it we decided to just go ahead and add the black to it. We are very happy with the results and are glad we did it!

After sanding down the desk and painting it black, we decided we liked it better white. Maybe next summer we will sand it down again and repaint it white. Then Anthon can rough up the edges and put a stain on it and make it look more like an antique.
