The Engagement

On August 14th I got engaged to the most wonderful man in the world! The day started off with a picnic that we had planned a couple weeks earlier while we were on vacation visiting my family. We went to Scenic Beach with the sandwiches, chips, lemonade, oreos, and milk we had packed beforehand. After we ate we walked on the beach, took some pictures, and skipped rocks. When we were getting in his car to leave he asked me if i could be ready in three hours. He teases me a lot so I had to keep asking him if he was serious. Then he took me home and I went and got ready.

When he picked me up he gave me a bouquet of 24 beautiful pink roses. We posed for a few photos and then we were on our way to dinner.

For dinner Anthon made us some BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. We also had some sparkling lemonade. We ate dinner on the porch at my grandparents house where he is staying. There were candles and some nice music playing in the background. The food was delicious...he is an awesome cook!

After dinner we were gonna go to the waterfront in Silverdale and dance in the gazebo...but when we got there, there was a lot of people there . We decided to go to a different park instead. When we got there Anthon showed me a slide show he had put together of pictures of us. When the slide show was done we set up the portable speakers we had brought and started dancing to some music. After a few songs he told me how special I was and that he loved me. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! And of course I said yes!

The Ring

After we danced for a while we had to go back to my grandparents house and show my grandma the ring (if we didn't she would kick my butt). After showing my grandparents the ring my grandpa said he was going to show us something we would never forget. Then he turned off all the lights in the house so our eyes could get acclimated to the dark. After a few minutes he took us out side and he showed us Jupiter through his binoculars. It was pretty funny! And that was the end of our night. Anthon took me home afterward.

4th of July Weekend

For the 4th of July weekend we went to Buhl with Cori again! We left Wednesday after classes. We stopped in Twin Falls at Mattie's grandma's house and had dinner with Mattie's family! After we got to Cori's we went swimming at the greenhouse pool (her family owns greenhouses). The next day G woke us all up early. We were not very happy...but he made us pancakes. Then we weeded the yard and helped move plants in the greenhouses so that we could spend more time on the river. When we were done moving plants we got to go to the river for a few hours...then it started getting stormy. That night we went to the pool again (this time it was heated). On Friday we went to the river earlier in the morning so that we could spend more time there! Again we ended up leaving because it got stormy...but we had at least been there for most of the day. We played sardines in the greenhouses later that night. On Saturday (the 4th) we went to the tractor parade! TThen we went and had a big picnic with Cori's family at Shoshone Falls! On our way back to Cori's house we stoppd at the Perrine Bridge! On Sunday we went to the singles branch there and then went back to Rexburg.

Disneyland!!

Over the weekend me and a group of friends went on a road trip to Disneyland! It was about a 14 hour drive. We started here in Rexburg Thursday night and drove down through Utah, Arizona, and Nevada before getting to California. On the way there we stopped at Temple Square since I have never been there before! It was very pretty. We also drove down the strip in Las Vegas. It wasn't that exciting. We ate breakfast at Ihop once we got to California. And a couple hours after getting to our hotel on Friday we went to California Adventures and Disneyland! We were there untill it closed at midnight! Except when we went to go get dinner at In-N-Out Burger (my first time there also). On Saturday we woke up early to get to Disneyland when it opened. The only time we left was to go get lunch. And then we were there till closing again. Then we got only a few hours of sleep before we left to go back to Rexburg. On the way home we stopped at St. George and went to Sacrament meeting with Ryan's grandparents, who fed us lunch before we left. I got home after 11 that night while the people in the other car didn't get home untill the afternoon on Monday due to a flat tire:( The whole trip was a blast and we are hoping to make it possible to do again next Spring semester!!
